Sword Invictae Conclave No. 516

At the last meeting of Sword Invictae Conclave No 516 at Rowfant House, on Monday 28th November 2011 at 5.45pm, the Supreme Ruler, Wy.Bro. Mark Josling opened the Conclave and then welcomed the R.Wy.Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, R.Wy.Bro. Paul Rose, who was attending the meeting formally with a large number of the Provincial Grand Officers of Sussex.

The PGSR took the chair, introduced the Provincial Grand Officers attending individually and then gave a short eulogy to his Father, the late Norman Rose who passed to the Grand Conclave above on 7th September 2011 following a battle with Cancer.

The SR regained the chair and welcomed the PGSR who responded warmly.

The main item on the agenda was to Pass Bro’s Lee Gilroy, Jack James and Hugh Everitt. The ceremony was performed to the usual high standard that we have become accustomed to expect from Wy. Bro. Mark, with his team of officers giving a very good performance of their own duties. The 3 candidates were well impressed with the degree in general and also the high standard of ritual conducted.

The PGSR then presented a Princes certificate to Bro. Robert Bromley.

The members then elected their Supreme Ruler, Bro. Jerry Griffin and also their new Treasurer, Bro David Vaughan Harris. Congratulations are extended to both for happiness in their new offices.

The remainder of the agenda was dealt with and after the PGSR and his team had retired, the Conclave was closed.

At the festive board we dined on Roast Beef with usual trimmings followed by Fruit Crumble, custard and cream. Coffee followed and a most convivial evening was had by all. Judging by the empty plates and dishes returned to the kitchen, the meal was a huge success.

Old News

At the Installation meeting of Sword Invictae Conclave No 516 on Wednesday 10th March 2010, our Supreme Ruler, Keith Harding welcomed as joining members, brothers David Allonby and Mark Josling. We all wish them a very happy and lengthy association with us at Rowfant House.

Our Right Worthy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, Vic Wisden, presented brother Graham Flight with his Princes certificate.

The Supreme Ruler then Inducted Worthy Brother Alan Hall into the Supreme Rulers chair.

The standard of Keith’s ritual was superb throughout and he needed very few prompts and made it flow like we all would like to perform it.

He gave the address to the supreme ruler, as well as the explanation of the weapons, again, maintaining the exceedingly high standard of ritual.

Everyone attending thoroughly enjoyed the whole ceremony.

The new Supreme Ruler, Alan Hall, appointed and invested his officers present and after usual business closed the Conclave.

We all dined at 7pm on Melon, Roast Lamb, and Bread and butter pudding, with coffee.

We concluded the festive board at 9pm and all departed feeling very satisfied with the whole meeting.

Our next meeting will be at Rowfant house on Wednesday 9th June 2010.
