Royal Sussex Conclave No. 10
News & EventsAt the last meeting of No 10 on Tuesday 4th October 2011, the Supreme Ruler, Wy.Bro. Roy Lester inducted 4 candidates into the order in the presence of the new PGSR, R.Wy.Bro. Paul Rose and the DPGSR, Wy.Bro. Len Palmer. Those members inducted were Paul West, Stanley Gooch, his son, Simon Gooch and Stephen Puttick. The ceremony was conducted in an excellent manner and all four candidates thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank are to be recorded to those members of the Conclave who stood in office at the last moment and nevertheless, performed remarkably well. The PGSR notified everyone at the meeting of impending promotions in Grand Rank, particularly Phil Waterfall, who will be promoted to Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies at the next annual meeting of Grand Conclave in Birmingham on 10th November 2011. Phil was heartily congratulated with applause. After the meeting, we all dined at the Maltravers Club having Soup, Braised Steak and Fruit Salad and cream followed by Cheese and biscuits. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th February 2012 at 5pm when the Conclave will conduct the Princes degree. All are welcome to attend, please notify the Secretary, Phil Waterfall if you wish to be included. May the Friend of all Friends be with you and we hope you will all enjoy the Christmas period with your families. Posted 16/11/11 Old NewsThe last meeting of the Conclave was opened by the Supreme Ruler, Wy.Bro. Gerry Furniss at 4.30pm at Littlehampton Masonic Centre, Littlehampton, on Tuesday 5th October 2010. The Right Worthy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, Victor Alan Wisden, was welcomed, saluted and thanked the assembled brethren for the warmth of their reception of him. Following the general business of the Conclave, four new members were inducted into the order. They are Bob Munro, Ron Strutt, Ken Skilton, and John Hughes. All these members are well known to most of the brethren of No 10. The ceremony was very well conducted by the Supreme Ruler, and the remainder of the Officers of the conclave are to be congratulated for their involvement and performance, particularly the 6 members who stood in for absent officers with very little notice. We were pleased to welcome Bro Roy Lester, Guide, who attended confined to a wheelchair following a recent operation to his ankle. He performed his work verbally with a "runner" performing the actions. We all thank Roy for attending and wish him a speedy recovery. He will remain "plastered" for the next six weeks. Heaven!! Oh, not that sort of plastered!! We wish to particularly thank the PGSR for giving the explanation of the weapons as well as the address to the candidates. This was a spur of the moment decision and we are grateful to him. After the remaining general business, the Conclave was closed. The Principal Officers of the conclave accompanied by the Right Worthy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler and other distinguished guests, retired from the conclave to the Maltravers Club for Dinner. The festive board was, as usual, a most friendly and happy occasion with a good meal and excellent company. We retired from the table at 9pm having enjoyed a really great meeting and dinner. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 1st February 2011 at 5pm, (tea and biscuits at 4.30pm), and we are hoping to perform a Princes degree. The Right Worthy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler will be attending, so if you would like to attend, you will be made very welcome. Please contact the Secretary for any more information, he will also book you in for dinner after the meeting if you so wish. May the Friend of all Friends be with you and all your loved-ones and on behalf of all the members of No 10, I wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year. |
